Welcome to Inclusive Reporting

Hello Everyone,

My name is Carolina Contreras and I am a budding photojournalist from Boston. I recently graduated college and find myself at one of the many forks in the road that present themselves throughout our lives. Growing up I have always enjoyed writing and photography, but I also wanted to change the world through grassroots community development and through policy making. I recently realized that there are many ways of impacting one's community. That's when it hit me. As the person who reports through images and words, I can control what is being reported and give value to the people, places and invents through my articles.

I decided to create this blog because first, I want to inform folks in our communities of the wonderful work that people of historically underrepresented groups are doing all around this country and all around the world. Secondly, the young people who are too often bombarded with negative images of people who look like them in the media, lack the motivation and the inspiration that can hopefully be provided through the stories I will tell. Lastly, I would like people to visit and utilize this blog as a place for networking and the sharing of ideas.
